Music Lessons

At High Leigh we offer music lessons through Rock Steady Music School.

Here’s why this works so well:

1. Inclusive & fun for all children
Rocksteady’s approach is designed for children of all backgrounds and abilities. Whether a pupil is picking up an instrument for the first time or already plays, the in-school band lessons ensure every child can join in.

2. Builds confidence and performance skills
One of the strongest benefits noted by parents is the boost in confidence. Pupils perform in concerts, work together as a band, learn to present in front of an audience and see their own progress first-hand.

3. Social skills, belonging and teamwork
Making music together creates friendships, encourages collaboration and gives children a sense of belonging. As Rocksteady put it: “Our inclusive approach helps children find a sense of belonging through new friendships … boosting social skills, wellbeing and confidence.”

4. Convenient & school-based
Because the lessons come to the school, there’s no need to commute or arrange separate travel. The weekly band slot fits into the school day, which makes it simple for pupils and parents alike.

5. Tailored for primary age children (Reception, KS1 & KS2)
The programme is specifically built for younger pupils, ensuring the teaching style, instruments and repertoire are age-appropriate, motivating and accessible.
